‘Take My National Award Back’: Akshay Kumar
The national award to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has been the most debated and discussed subject in the recent times. The actor winning national award in ‘Best Actor’ category for Rustom drew mixed reactions from fans, detractors and cinephiles. It has not just resulted in huge controversy but also bothered the jury members and actor Akshay Kumar severely.
Akshay’s selection was highly questioned by his critics and so, the actor finally decided to give them the runaround in his own terms. So, reacting to the whole episode, he said, ‘It’s has not been easy to win a National award and I won it for the first time in my 26 years of acting career. If someone doesn’t want me to get this award, please go ahead and take it away from me.’
In the past, immediately after controversy stroke up, Akshay gave out a clarification saying that he neither influenced nor bribed anyone to win this National award.
On the acting front, the Khiladi star in now working on Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and Shankar-Rajinikanth’s 2.0, wherein he’s playing antagonist role.
