KCR To Turn Coolie For Two Days
When it comes to politics, KCR is the quintessential Wizard of Words. He’s at his best in speeches and knows very well how to charm masses and how to play it to the gallery. The latest is that the Telangana crusader-turned-chief minister announced that he would do ‘coolie’ work to raise funds for upcoming party plenary. KCR stated that he would turn Coolie for two days.
KCR said he, hs cabinet colleagues, MLAs and other leaders of TRS party will work as coolies to raise funds for party’s plenary and formation day public meeting that’s planned to held this month. He said that it’s mandatory for all of them to do ‘coolie’ work to attend the event.
Declaring that it will be ‘Gulabi (pink) coolie days’ from April 14 to April 20, he asked all TRS party workers, leaders to work for at least two days to meet expenses of transportation and other costs.
This is in the wake of TRS’ party’s plenary on April 21st at Kompally, Hyderabad. The party’s massive public meeting is scheduled on April 27th in Warangal coinciding with the party’s formation day. According to KCR, the party had 51 Lakh membership when it formed government in 2014 and he claimed that it has gone upto over 75 lakh in 3 years. The party is expected to get Rs 25 Crore as membership fee, Rao said.
KTR To Be President of TRS?
As TRS’ plenary is expected to elect the Party President, speculations are rife that IT Minister and KCR’s son KTR will be taking over the reigns of the party from his father. Already as part of the strategy, KTR had been touring districts and holding public meetings and interacting with people. However, when asked about the transition of power from KCR to KTR, KCR kept the cards close to his chest and said, “You will see the election result.” Party’s senior leader and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy is going to act as the presiding officer.
Reservations For Muslims, Hike In ST, BC Quota
KCR reiterated that the state government is going to bring new reservation act to include Muslims and raise the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and the backward classes quota. KCR said that the Telangana will follow the Tamil Nadu which had hiked its reservations as per its population that was later approved by the Parliament.
“Nearly 90% of Telangana’s population belongs to SC, ST and OBC categories. Tamil Nadu government increased the reservation according to their population. The Parliament accepted their proposal. Telangana too will do the same,” KCR said. He also said to have stated that if Centre won’t respond positively for the new reservation act, KCR stated that his government would also move the Supreme Court.
