TDP Supporters Attack Own MP
In a major embarrassment to the ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh, two groups of the party have openly clashed on Friday. The two groups within the party took on each other in Kadapa district following the induction of Jammalamadugu MLA and defected YSRCP MLA Adi Narayana Reddy into the cabinet.
The supporters of Rama Subba Reddy camp have clashed with the supporters of party’s Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh accusing him of favouring Adi Narayana Reddy in getting berth in the recent cabinet reshuffle. Rama Subba Reddy is the arch rival of Adi Narayana Reddy and naturally he and his supporters couldn’t digest that Adi Narayana Reddy got into cabinet.
Ramesh has convened a meeting in Jammalamadugu to request the members of Rama Subba Reddy camp to work in association with Adi Narayana Reddy. This has triggered the clash. The supporters of Rama Subba Reddy have expressed their anger against the move by throwing the chairs into air while a few others were broken. They made it clear that they won’t work with Adi Narayana Reddy. When a few lost cool and turned against CM Ramesh, the supporters of CM Ramesh stepped in for their leader resulting in a minor clash.
Although Rama Subba Reddy too tried to pacify his own supporters, he couldn’t persuade them. It’s reported that the followers of Rama Subba Reddy are very unhappy with Adi Narayana Reddy with whom they share enmity for several years. At one point, they said to had alleged that the family members of Rama Subba Reddy have lost a lot due to Adi Narayana Reddy and stated that it’s impossible to work with him.
With this, the meeting had to be called off abruptly and the supporters of Rama Subba Reddy were forced to leave. All in all, the aftermath consequences in the TDP after its cabinet rejig are not going to calm down anytime sooner which are creating new headaches to the party’s senior leaders
