West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has beaten AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
India Today’s Mood of the Nation Survey named Mamata as the best performing Chief Minister in the country followed by Nitish Kumar, followed by Yogi Adityanath, Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Arvind Kejriwal.
Chandrababu is standing as the fourth best CM in the country and he is the only South Indian CM among the top 5. Arvind Kejriwal is in 5th position, i.e next to Chandrababu.
Mamata has got 12% votes placing her in the number one, Nitish Kumar and Yogi Adityanath received 10% votes each, however, Nitish and Yogi settled with 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Nara Chandrababu Naidu secured 6 per cent votes making him the fourth best performing CM.
The successor state of Andhra Pradesh has been in debts with major source of revenue (Hyderabad) has gone to the Telangana. Despite steep financial crisis and minimal support from the Centre – that went back on its promise of according Special Category Status and Financial aid to AP, Naidu managed his best to do the developmental works in the new state and burning midnight oil to build world-class capital city Amaravati.
