As the much-hyped Nandyal by-election is just five days away, YSR Congress Party leaders who has fear of losing, are resorting to buy votes. In many areas, YSRCP party workers are allegedly luring voters with money. Cops have arrested at least 25 people (all are men) on Friday who are distributing money to voters in Nandyal. Officials along with police caught them red-handed with cash.
Former Kadapa Mayor and Jagan’s uncle Ravindranath Reddy’s personal assistant (PA), two counsellors from Pulivendula, one leader from Kadapa who contested as corporator and lost, and party workers from Rayachoti, Badvel, few others from Nandyal were among the arrested.
An amount of Rs 4,02,030/- has been recovered from them and the money has been seized by cops. An inquiry is going on and depending on the outcome the further action will be taken.
What is shocking is that locales have voluntarily informed the officials and cops about the distribution of money in their area. With this, officials stepped in and caught the violators.
On one hand, YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy claims of “ethics”, “morals”, “justice” and on other hand his own party leaders, workers are indulging in anti-democratic ways of buying votes.
