What Hurts Katamarayudu Further!
Is Katamarayudu going the route of Sardaar Gabbar Singh? The film has taken decent opening but the average word of mouth might not be sufficient to take it close to Rs 100 crore which is needed to bring profits to the buyers. Shouldn’t Pawan Kalyan have learned a lesson from Sardaar and at least planned post-release promotions?
It is known that except the reluctant attendance in the Pre-release event, Pawan has not uttered a single statement on any platform to promote Katamarayudu. Shruti Haasan has also given a miss to the film’s promotions.
The film’s opening was good but trade experts say that the film doesn’t have that appealing factor to sustain for long at box office. In such circumstances, if Pawan takes part in at least a few Post-release promotional events, they might evoke the interest of people in this routine fare.
Pawan on the other hand looks to be stuck to his age-old principle – ‘If film is good, people will automatically watch it, there is no need to persuade or force them to watch films’.
Its high time Pawan took responsibility and promote his films as a true measure of helping buyers. Not many buyers revolted at the time of Sardaar but they might do this time.
