Yet another hate crime attack in US!
After a series of gun-firing attacks on Indian origin US residents like Srinivas Kuchibotla, Deep Rai and Harnish Patel, the United States of America had witnessed yet another hate crime incident. Only after Donald Trump assuming as President of US, attacks on Indian NRIs and their assets have been soaring.
Going into the news, a 64-year old Richard Lloyd has been reportedly taken into custody by Florida police for setting up fire to a Indian-born’s convenience store at 100 Prima Vista Blvd in Port St. Lucie. Assuming that the store belongs to an Arab Muslim, Richard has sparked a blaze and stood at the store, with a smile on his face.
Ken Mascara, Sheriff of St. Lucie County, said that, ‘the fire at the convenience store was put out immediately and no big damage has been caused. It’s unfortunate that Richard assumed the store owner as an Arab Muslim and attempted to attack.’
After being taken into custody, Lloyd said to police authorities that he was denied a bottle of Tropicana Orange Pineapple juice when he visited Indian’s store last week. Police authorities are investing into this on the lines of hate-crime charges and the suspect was booked in lie of USD30,000 bond.
